God Will Bring It To Pass – Part 2

Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.  He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.  Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass…For evildoers shall be cut off; but those who wait on the Lord, shall inherit the earth.  Psalm 37; 5-7, 9, NKJV

Lord, it is good to know that You will defend Your children.  Please make this plain to us as we study Your Word; for Christ’s sake; Amen

I believe this is the first time that we have added one promise to another.  The reason for this is because we still have a portion of the first promise to discuss, and the last part of that promise merges well with the second promise.  I have highlighted the second promise to show where one ends and the other begins.  The truth is, this entire psalm is a promise!

Yesterday we ended on the note that God was beginning to bring to pass His plan in the lives of Esther and Mordecai.  This plan would eventually prove a blessing to an entire nation.  At the same time, trouble was lurking right around the corner.  Haman the Agagite, was promoted by king Ahasuerus, to what would appear to be the second in command.  People who gathered at the gate, were commanded to bow down before him.  Mordecai would not.  A spark of enmity was ignited by Haman against Mordecai.  After complaining to his wife and other relatives about Mordecai’s behavior, they advised him to build a gallows and hang Mordecai on it.  That way, he would not have to deal with his insubordination day after day.  He thought it was a good idea, so he went ahead and built the gallows.

Do not forget that both Esther and Mordecai had committed their ways to the Lord.  Here is the evidence of this:  When the edict to destroy the Jews, funded in part by Haman, was signed by the king and sent to all the provinces throughout the kingdom, Mordecai and Esther planned a three day fast.  They knew where their saIvation was coming from.  They knew that “salvation belongs to the Lord!”  I never fail to marvel at God’s providence and timing!  The same day that Haman’s wife, and friends, *advised him to build a gallows on which to hang Mordecai, was the same day that Esther invited the king and Haman to a banquet, to set the stage, to plea for her life and the life of her people.  Strategic movements were already in progress in high places, to counteract the forces of evil, working against the people of God.  Glory hallelujah!

God was getting ready to make manifest their “righteousness as the light,” and their justice as the noonday.”  Stated differently, He was getting ready to prove the innocence of His children.  They had been accused of being the bad guys in the kingdom.  God would reveal who the real bad guys were.  There was only one thing for them to do at this time.  They were to, “Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; [and] not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.  God, was in controlGod is always in control!  It behooves us not to forget this.
