Behold, I Make All Things New!

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. Revelation 21:5

Thank You Lord!  We long for a change!  We thank You for making all things new, because of Your love for us.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen

One of these days I am going to take a deep breath, and find it the atmosphere of heaven!  Hallelujah!  Some day soon, I am going to take a sip of fresh water, and find that I am drinking from the fountain of the water of life!  Bless the Lord, oh my soul!  One day, I am going to walk down the streets of glory and not hear any sirens!  That is because there will be no emergencies there!  Praise God!  One day, very, very, soon, I am going to look up and find that I am looking into the face of my Jesus!  Oh, oh, that will be glory!  Oh that will be glory!  Yes, that will be glory, glory, for me!  May that day come quickly, Lord Jesus!

Thank you for allowing me to offer some praise to the Lord at the beginning of this devotional!  My heart could not hold it until the end!  Are you excited about what is about to happen?  According to our promise for today, God is about to make all things new!  You know my friends, we will never be able to appreciate the new, until we have grown tired of the old order of things.

Whenever we get tired of seeing abuse happen, we will desire the new.  Whenever we get tired of seeing injustice prevail, we will desire a change.  Whenever the pain of the hungry child in India becomes my pain, my heart will yearn for a different order of things.  Whenever the grief over seeing children lose their parents to AIDS in Africa, cause me to lie prostrate on my face, then we will beg for the change to take place!  But while we are not affected by the “old,” the “new,” may not have any special appeal for us.  Have mercy!

What is truly fascinating about the “new” is that we cannot even imagine it!  “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him” (1 Corinthians 2: 9).  It defies our imagination!  Usually, if you have as vivid an imagination as mine, and you begin imagining something, by the time you are face to face with the reality, it falls short of what you had imagined, and sometimes, you could even be disappointed.  But “there’s no disappointment in heaven!”  Thank You Jesus!

God’s new life, will replace death.  God’s new joy will replace sorrow.  God’s new order of things will replace tears, and crying.  God’s new healing will replace pain.  “For the former things are passed away” (verse 4).

There is a saying:  “if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.”  Here on earth, that is a good thought to keep in mind.  But when God promises you something too good to be imagined, you can take that promise to the bank!  God Himself, confirms that in the following declaration:  “Write:  for these words are true and faithful.” (Emphasis provided).  There you have it!  God said it, you can trust Him to bring it to past!

Are you ready for the new order of things?  God has done everything to ensure that you be ready when the time comes.  Have you accepted His invitation?  I hope you have.  “It will be worth it all, when we see Jesus.”
