You Will Find Me, I Promise!

And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29: 13, NKJV

Dear Father, thank You for being there all along, and revealing Yourself when we seek You with all our hearts.  Amen

The little boy was playing in the sand.  Suddenly, he looked up and saw a monk approaching.  He thought, “Surely, he will be able to answer my question.”  For days he had been thinking about a conversation he had overheard between his dad and a neighbor.  They were discussing about what is truth.  Somehow they could not agree on a definition.  “But a monk knows everything, I will ask him.”

Soon he was walking beside the monk explaining the problem.  Finally he asked:  “Please sir, tell me, what is truth?”  The monk continued walking as if he had not heard a word.  Puzzled, the little boy repeated his question.  Still there was no answer.  In desperation, he started tugging at the monk’s cloak, trying to get his attention, and if possible, an answer, but there was no response.

Suddenly, it dawned on him that they were walking in the river, and before he could turn around, the monk held him by the hand, immersed his head in the water, and held it there!  The boy gasped, and fought, and kicked, until finally, the monk pulled his head from beneath the water.  Looking him sqare in the eyes the monk said:  “Any time you want to know what truth is as much as you wanted to breathe, you will know what it is.”  Whenever we want to find God as passionately as we want to live, we will find Him.

There is only one way to find God, and that is to search for Him with everything we are and have!  “But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find [H]im if you look for [H]im with all your heart and with all your soul” (Deuteronomy 4: 29, NIV).  Even in the land of our exile we will find Him if we seek Him diligently!

There is only one way to love God, and that is to love Him completely!  “Jesus replied: ” ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind’ ” ” (Matthew 22: 37).  There is place for only one throne in our hearts!

There is only one way to serve the Lord, and that is to serve Him only!  “Jesus answered him, ” ‘It is written,  ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve only [H]im’  ”  ”  (Matthew 4: 8, NRSV).  No servant can serve two masters.  Either he will hate the one, and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.  You cannot serve both God and Money” (Luke 16: 13, NIV).  You will never find another Master to love you the way Jesus does!

God wants our all.  With God it is all or nothing.  Not because He needs our undivided attention, but because we need to focus on Him that we might not be distracted or deceived by the wiles of the enemy!  It is because He loves us that He has asked us to serve Him with an undivided will.  He knows that it is the only way

YHWH is Soverign in heaven and on earth.  He is Creator and Savior.  He is God and Lord.  He deserves to be sought, loved, and served, with our entire being.  If you search for Him with all your heart, as if your very life depended on it (and it does)!  You will find Him; and oh, how glad you will be that you did!  God bless you!

You Will Find Me, I Promise!
