Take Some Time Off!

And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while,”  For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. Mark 6: 31, NKJV

Dear God, please allow us to sit in Your presence and listen to Your voice.  Amen

Life gets busy, does it not?  And we follow its trend.  We believe that if we do not “keep up,” life will leave us behind.  After reading this passage of Scripture, let me whisper a secret in your ears:  we set the pace of our life!  Isn’t that great!  Life cannot get any faster than we allow it to!  Let me explain.  When we become sick, and have to lay quietly at home, or on our hospital beds, does everything come to an abrupt stop?  Not in the world I live in!  Life goes on, perfectly, withoutmy input.  What has that taught me?  That life can, and does, happen, with me, without me, and, in spite, of me!  Thank You Lord, for making me realize this.

Now that I have reminded me of this once again, permit me to share with you some thoughts that have blessed my life through the years.

At the end of creation week God thought about what would be the best gift that He could give His newly created family.  I have given them a garden-home (Genesis 2: 15).  I have provided good food in abundance for them (1: 29; 2: 16).  I have given them lots of pets (2: 19).  I have given them each other, in a perfect, relationship (2: 21-24).  What else can I give them?  Aha!  I know what I will give them!  I will give them of Myself, I will give them a special portion of My time, just for them to be able to take time off and be with Me (2: 2, 3).  Because I love them!  From that day, love is spelled t-i-m-e!  Time to learn how to taste life again!  Time to enjoy life again!  Time to learn how to appreciate life again!  Time for togethernessTime for renewal!

Isn’t it wonderful, that in the busy week of creation God thought about you and me?  I am glad that He did; and that He kept His best gift for the last.  It gives me great joy that He cuts a twenty-four-hour chunk out of eternity, every week, just to dedicate to me.  I rejoice in the fact that He has set aside a day just for my benefit, and that He continues, after more than six thousand years, to maintain His Lordship over it (Mark 2: 27, 28)!  Praise God!

Have you had the unique pleasure of spending an entire twenty-four-hours dedicated exclusively to God?  Have you enjoyed His kind, peaceful, gentle, presence in a stress-free atmosphere?  Have you been able to also enjoy the sharing of His word (Luke 4: 16); and the fellowship and love of your brothers and sisters in Christ?  This fellowship with the brothers and sisters should take place all during the week (Acts 2: 46), and reach a real “high” on the Sabbath day!

If you have never done this before, I invite you to join us and take some “time off” for real enjoyment.  If you are interested, please use the Contact Me link to reach me.  I would really love to hear from you!  Have a Happy Sabbath, in the LORD!
