Then the angel said to me, ” Write: ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.” Revelation 19: 9, NIV
Gracious God, as we enter the study of Your Word, may we be blessed, for Christ’s sake; Amen.
This is exciting news! We have been invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb! This is such good news because every man and woman, boy and girl, have an opportunity to attend this supper. The only way you will be left out, is if you decide that you do not want to go! In Matthew chapter 22 we find some of the details of this wedding feast! The Father sent His servants to take the first set of invitations to the family members of the groom. The servants were treated very badly, some even lost their lives. Many of the family members were not interested. The second set of invitations were then sent to the extended family members of the groom. The message was urgent: “The cost of this wedding feast is priceless. We emptied heaven to be able to pay for it (1 Peter 1: 18, 19)! The food is already prepared; please come” (Matthew 22: 4)!
Many who received the wedding invitation thought it was too good to be true; so they set it aside. But it is true, “These are the true words of God.” Others said, “well, there is no date on it, I will just wait until I believe it is almost time, and then I will get ready” (Matthew 25: 3). Others decided, since the invitation does not have a date we will try to be always ready (4). The Father has sent special gowns for the invitees to wear to the wedding (Zechariah 3: 4, 5). No one must arrive in his or her own garment (Matthew 22: 4)!
I am sending you a copy of the invitation with the prayer that you will not only accept it, but that you will make plans to attend. No one can take your place. It has been reserved just for you. The saints of all ages will be there! Your loved ones who have died in the Lord, will be there (Revelation 20: 4-6). The question that only you can answer is, “Will you be there? Jesus has done everything to help you be prepared for His second coming. Accepting His invitation is your decision to make.
Note: To RSVP, just call Jesus on the prayer line, it is never busy. Today is the best day to do it, because it is the only day that we are sure of. You can tell Him, Jesus, I accept Your invitation. I love You, and want to attend Your wedding feast. Please accept me, and forgive me of my sins, and keep me ready to meet You when You return. In Your holy name I pray. Amen and amen.
God the Father, the Holy Spirit, and the entire host of heaven, request your presence at the marriage supper of the Lamb. Place: the Earth made new. Time: At an hour that you are not expecting.
