God Gives Us Strength Proportionate To Each Day

Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.  Deuteronomy 33: 25

Dear God, how glad we are that You are in our lives!  Now please come close, and help us to learn, that the stresses of the day, will never be greater than the strength that You will provide.  In the precious name of Your Son Jesus we pray.  Amen.

Dear faithful friends, this is one of the beautiful, and endearing hymns, that have been inspired by a text from the Bible, and that have encouraged so many of us during some dark moments of our lives.  If you believe that the words of this hymn, or the texts from Scripture that have inspired the hymn might be a blessing to someone you know; please feel free to use the “comments” form and dedicate it to that person.  You can dedicate it to as many people as you wish.

This text forms a part of the blessing that was pronounced upon the children of Israel, specifically the tribe of Asher.  We know from sacred history that God was faithful in fulfilling His promise to the children of Israel.  He will be faithful in fulfilling His promises to us.  Their shoes and clothing survived the wanderings in the wilderness.  Will God do less for His children in the Twenty-first Century?  Put Him to the test, and you will see that His faithfulness far surpasses our wildest imaginations.  The great God of the universe loves you, and His mercy and love will be proportionate to your needs for the day.  The following hymn is based on our text for today.

                                                            Day by Day

“Day by day and with each passing moment, strength I find to meet my trials here;  Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment, I’ve no cause for worry of for fear.  He whose heart is kind beyond all measure gives unto each day what He deems best.  Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure, mingling toil with peace and rest.

“Everyday the Lord Himself is near me with a special mercy for each hour; All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me, He whose name is Counselor and power.  The protection of His child and treasure is a charge that on Himself He laid; As your days, your strength shall be in measure, this the pledge to me He made.

“Help me then in every tribulation so to trust Thy promises, O Lord, that I lose not faith’s sweet consolation offered me within Thy holy Word.  Help me Lord, when toil and trouble meeting, e’er to take, as from a Father’s hand, one by one, the days, the moments fleeting, till I reach the promised land.”

This hymn was a part of our weekly “Sabbath – Welcoming” Worship, when we were raising our children.  It brings back very sweet and significant memories.  I pray that you will be blessed by its message!

Happy Sabbath!
