Who can discern his [her] errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Psalm 19: 12, NIV.
Dear God, Please keep us real by showing us the help that we need as we look into Your Word. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
NOTE: Dear Web Family and Friends, from today until June 16, we will be sharing some short thoughts with you. We will resume our regular devotionals on June 17. Blessings!
The way we become aware that we need help, is by assessing our needs. Today the psalmist is asking God to forgive him of those faults that he is not aware of, those faults that are “hidden.” We commit them so naturally, that we do not see them as faults. We may not be aware that we need help in those areas, but Jesus knows. The psalmist seems to be saying, “What human being can know all of his or her wrong doings? That is where the work of His Holy Spirit comes in – He will reveal them to us. He will not only reveal them, but when we confess them, The Lord will forgive us. Praise God!
