But I have trusted in your mercy; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the LORD, because He has dealt bountifully with me. Psalm 13: 5, 6, NKJV.
Merciful God, as we bow before You, in the study of Your Word; please teach us how to trust in Your salvation. In the name of Jesus we humbly pray. Amen.
God extends more mercy to His creatures than there are waves in the sea! His goodness is beyond our capacity to measure or understand. It is enduring, and everlasting, and it will outlast us. When we have come to the end of our rope, God’s mercy has just begun to act upon our lives. This is mercy at its best. Therefore, we can trust in the mercy of the LORD.
God has saved us. This is something to rejoice about. Where would we be if God had not taken our place and provided us with salvation by offering up His own life on our behalf? Because of this we sing of His goodness, we bear testimony that He is love, and that all that we are, and all that we would like to become, can be made possible by the goodness of the LORD. Like the psalmist we can conclude that God has dealt with us with an abundance of grace and goodness!
NOTE: On June 17 we will be resuming our regular devotionals.
