Dear God, thank You for the opportunity to start over, for a second chance, for a new beginning. As we enter this New Year, please rededicate us to Your service and use us for your glory. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ we ask this blessing and in His name we receive it by faith. Amen.
What a privilege is ours to have arrived on the very threshold of a new year. By faith we have received a new book with three hundred and sixty five bright, clean, glowing pages on which we can begin to write new chapters in the story of our lives. The pages are washable. The blood of the Lamb can be used to erase our confessed failures, and can also be used to write our victories. We are now ready to begin this journey by faith.
What will your first entry be? To begin on the right track allow me to make a few suggestions:
A good place to start would be at the Throne of Grace where you can receive a full supply of Mercy to help you face whatever comes your way. This will enable you to write on your first page: I overcame because “His “mercies endure forever.”
Next you could stop at the Positive Thinking Shop and pick up “whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – Meditate on these things.”
Follow this up with a good serving of Worship ingredients:
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
Our Scripture for today was announcing the beginning of a new day for Israel. They were leaving the land of their captivity to embark on a life of true freedom. What they did not have when they left Egypt was a plan. A plan to start over. A plan to succeed.
When God takes you out of a situation, He is getting you ready to enter a new sphere, a new life with new possibilities and new outcomes. The recommendations above are part of a suggested plan for use as you enter the New Year. Give it a try. You could be blessed if you do!
