Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13, 14.
Our Father, once again we are here in Your Presence waiting for a word from You. Please speak Lord for we are listening. In the holy name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
Today we have come to the place where we are adding to the plan, reaching forward to those things that are ahead. The plan that we are putting together is one that will enable us to live a victorious life in the year 2017. We are fully aware that we can only have victory as we allow God to show us the plan He has for our life and by His grace and in His strength, live by that plan. So we are searching His word as we put this plan together.
Perhaps today as we consider reaching forward, forgetting will seem more relevant to us. Holding on to the negative experiences of life can keep us from moving forward. When we are content to remember the injustices we have suffered, the tears of frustration we have shed, the disappointments we have endured, we can become paralyzed. Bitterness can take the place of bravery, and faith can be overtaken by fear.
Far better to dwell on those memories that are honest, just, and true! How empowering to think of those moments in our life when God turned our wailings into witnessing, and our turmoil into powerful testimonies. These were the thoughts that enabled us to get up out of the dust of self pity and walk in the sunlight of God’s favor!
Is it any wonder that it is said of the overcomers that this was made possible “by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony” (Revelation 12:11; emphasis supplied)?
A powerful way to reach forward to what is ahead is by declaring what you envision for your future. The vision that God gave you. Remember this plan was made secure at Calvary. It has been paid for in full by the blood of the Lamb!
If you have been walking with the Lord. If He is Your Guide and Counselor. If you have asked Him to order your steps in His word, then you can both claim and declare the vision the Father has given you of your future because His word will never return to Him unfulfilled. “For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast” (Psalm 33:9).
His spoken will, will also be done in your life and mine – if we surrender to it. this will enable us to press forward!.
