“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this” (Isaiah 9:6-7).
Heavenly Father, here we are once again, in Your Holy Presence, waiting to hear Your voice. We look once more to You for guidance as we enter the great unknown. We enter with the full assurance that You know what lies ahead. Therefore, we enter with hope, and not in fear! In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
Well dear friends, we have come full circle in our study of the names of our Savior, as He took upon Himself our fallen humanity (approximately four thousand years after the entrance of sin), and walked in our mocassins, not for a month, but for approximately thirty-three and one half years on earth. And after He had transformed and dignified our humanity, He took it with Him to heaven, and now brings glory to it, as He shares the Throne with His Father in heaven,
“which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 1:20, emphasis supplied)[!] Hallelujah! Thine be the glory, O Lord!
So let us sing His praises!
“His name is [W]onderful; His name is wonderful. His name is wonderful; Jesus my Lord. He is the mighty King; Master of everything. His name is wonderful; Jesus my Lord.
‘He’s the Great Shepherd the Rock of all Ages, Almighty God is He. Bow down before Him, Love and adore Him. His name is wonderful, Jesus my Lord” (Audrey Meir).
“A mighty fortress is our God, A bulwark never failing; Our helper He, amid the flood Of mortal ills prevailing. For still our ancient foe Doth seek to work us woe; His craft and power are great; and armed with cruel hate, On earth is not His equal.
‘Did we in our own strength confide, Our striving would be losing, Were not the right man on our side, The man of God’s own choosing. Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus it is He, Lord Sabaoth His name, From age to age the same, And He must win the battle” . . . (Martin Luther, Tr. by Frederick H. Hedge).
“It was such a lovely day And the sun was shining bright; A gentle wind was blowing my way
Not a storm cloud in sight. Then suddenly, without a warning, A storm surrounded my life; But even in the storm I can feel the calm, And here’s the reason why,
‘I know the Peacespeaker, I know Him by name; I know the Peacespeaker He controls the winds and waves. When He says, “Peace, be still,” They have to obey, I’m glad I know the Peacespeaker; Yes, I know Him by name.
‘There’s never been another man, With the power of this Friend. By simply saying, “Peace, be stil,l” He can calm the strongest wind; So now I’ll never worry when storm clouds come my way, I know that He is near to drive away my fear; And I can smile and say, I know the Peacespeaker, I know Him by name” (Heritage Singers).
We serve a Wonderful God, Who is our Counselor, and helps us keep our feet in paths of righteousness by His words of wisdom! He is our Mighty God and Strong Fortress, especially in times of difficulty! He is the Everlasting Father, who never stops loving us! From season to season in our lives, He remains the same: Faithful! We do not have to fear the storms that come to our lives, because He is our Peacespeaker! Hallelujah! Praise God!
Today, the songs we sang to His glory, were all inspired by Who He Is; He is all that we have said, and then some! May we continue to walk with Him in this new Year. If you have not been walking with Him in the past, today is a good day to begin! Then whatever The Great Unknown holds, we are going to be alright!
From my heart to yours: Happy and Blessed 2022, to you and your loved ones!
