What the World Needs, Is Just A Glimpse of Jesus!

Now there were certain Greeks who were among those who came up to worship at the feast.  Then they came to Phillip, who was from Bethsaida of Gallilee, and asked him saying, “Sir, we would see Jesus.”  John 12: 20, 21, NKJV.

Holy Father, “in times like these,” we need to see You, and hear You; as You teach us from Your holy Word.  Please bless us in the precious name of Jesus; Amen.

In the days in which we live, there is only one thing that can bring us true satisfaction, and that is to see Jesus!  It is only as we see Him as He really is, “high and lifted up,” that we will find the help we need, for “times like these!”

Hagar saw Him, as “the GOD who sees [me]” and received the courage that she needed to go back and submit herself to her mistress (Genesis 16: 9, 13).

Jacob saw God, “face to face” and had his name changed from “supplanter” (deceiver) to, “the one who strives with God, and with man” (over-comer).  From this encounter, He received sufficient courage to go back and face his brother Esau (Genesis 32: 27,28, 30).

Job saw God for himself; after hearing about Him; and “repented in sackcloth and ashes” (Job 42: 5, 6).

Isaiah saw when the glory of the LORD filled the temple; and after confessing His unworthiness, was willing to be used by God; his response was, “Here am I; send me” (Isaiah 6: 8)!

John the Baptist saw Him, and recognized Him as the “Lamb of GOD, which taketh away the sins of the world (John 1: 29)!

Mary saw Him; she dried her tears; and left the empty tomb rejoicing, to go and proclaim the message of a risen Savior (John 20: 14-18)!

Thomas saw Him with the nail-prints in His hands and feet; He beheld His pierced side, and exclaimed, “My Lord, and my God (26-28)!

The Greeks wanted to see Jesus face to face; so they went in search of Him.  Jesus said:  “All that the Father gives Me, will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out” (John 6: 37).

The thief on the cross recognized Jesus as LORD; and asked to be remembered when Jesus would come into His kingdom (Luke 23: 39-42)!

Have you seen Jesus?  The song-writer put it this way:  “What the world needs is Jesus, just a glimpse of Him; What the world needs is Jesus, just a glimpse of Him.  He will bring joy and gladness; Take away sin and sadness; What the world needs is Jesus, just a glimpse of Him!”

What the World Needs, Is Just A Glimpse of Jesus!
