Praise the LORD all you nations! Extol him all you peoples! For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD! Psalm 117: 1, 2, NRSV.
Gracious God, How excellent is Your name in all the earth! As we come into Your presence, may we be transformed; and may we return to our tasks, rejoicing! In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
This is the shortest chapter in our Bible, and yet it is one of the most powerful! It says so much! It talks about the unchanging, unwavering, constant, love of God! A love that has been granted to us, not because we deserve it, but because God is love! This is a love that does not depend on our being good! Praise God! It is a love that will endure though the heavens fall! It is a love that will see us through to the end!
It also mentions the faithfulness of the LORD. Our God is true! He is reliable! He is trustworthy! We can depend on God! No matter who else may fail us, we know that God will never fail! So many of us can testify to that fact. Had it not been for the LORD, where would we be? Thank God for His faithfulness that is everlasting! Therefore, praise Him!
As you go through this day, if life should begin to “beat up” on you, just remember that God loves you, and that His faithfulness toward you, will never end!
