We Are In The Best Hands!

Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O LORD, You preserve man and beast. Psalm 36: 5, 6, NKJV.

Merciful Father, we thank You for the covenant that You have made with your creation. That includes both man and beast  May we not forget this. In the Holy Name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

No doubt you have heard the phrase, “God is God, all by Himself.” This is true in so many ways. No other religion can claim a God as personal as YHWH. He takes such good care of the creatures of His hand. In the beginning of creation, God created the beasts, and He gave our first parents dominion over them. When Adam and Eve sinned, and opened the Pandora Box of evil, the thoughts of human beings became “evil continually” (Genesis 6: 5). Therefore, God destroyed all of the, then existent, creation, and started over anew, with the one family that would accept His salvation – the ark of safety.

Then God made a new covenant with His creation, The harmony that had once existed between man and beast was destroyed, therefore, God Himself would exert dominion over His creatures. He would preserve them. In the Book of the Psalms we read the following:  “The eyes of all look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season” (Psalm 145: 15). When we see, and hear, of some of the cruelty inflicted on animals, all we can say is – “Thank God – He is in charge! If human beings can do the things they do, even though God is the one who preserves His beasts, can you imagine if their preservation was still under the dominion of humankind?

So today, let us look for a few minutes at God’s mercies, His faithfulness, His righteousness, and His judgments, in the earth:

God’s mercies are “new every morning” (Lamentations 3: 22, 23a). Because of His mercies we are alive. They “fail not.” “His mercies endure forever” (Psalm 107: 1). He saves us for His “mercies’ sake” (Psalm 6: 4)! He “shows mercy to His anointed” (Psalm 18: 50). His eye is on “those who hope in His mercy” (Psalm 33: 18). He does not “turn away His mercy” from us (Psalm 66: 20).

He is “faithful” (Isaiah 49: 7). “Great” is His “faithfulness” (Lamentations 3: 23b). He is faithful in keeping His “covenant to a thousand generations”  (Deuteronomy 7: 9) – His faithfulness exceeds our lifetime! It “reaches to the cloud. ” His faithfulness “surrounds” Him (Psalm 89: 8).

For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness” (Psalm 11: 7). His righteousness will be declared. (Psalm 22: 31). “Righteousness will go before Him, and shall make His footsteps our pathway” (Psalm 55: 13). “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne” (Psalm 97: 2). Like His mercy, “His righteousness endures forever” (Psalm 111: 3).

“For God Himself is Judge” (Psalm 50: 6b). We need not fear the judgment. He has given all judgment to the Son. Jesus said, “I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me” (John 5: 30).

Having such a God on our side, we have nothing to fear! We are in the best hands! Hallelujah!
