God’s Everlasting Love

The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you. Jeremiah 31:3, NKJV.

Dear Heavenly Father, we are so grateful for Your love that has no end. We realize that there is nothing we can do to deserve it. We are just grateful that it is there for us. We claim it and thank You for it, in the name which is above every name, the name of Jesus the Christ. Amen.

Aren’t you glad that God’s love for you is endless? That is, there is nothing that you or I can do to lose that love? Yes, you heard me right, nothing that we can do will make God stop loving us! It is such a wonderful thought, that it seems too good to be true! That is why so many people do not believe it.

Too many men, women, and children spend their lives trying to earn the love and approval of others. We dress, speak, and act, a certain way to please or impress others, in order to deserve their love. From the cradle to the grave human beings dedicate time and energy in the pursuit of love. And sad to say, oftentimes they die, without ever knowing for sure if those they were trying to impress were satisfied with their performance.

Well today I bring you Good News!  You are loved! And you will never have to do anything to deserve it. It was bought, paid for, and gift-wrapped and brought down to earth by the Lover of our souls, Jesus Christ the Righteous!

One way to make people feel loved and put an end to this insatiable crave for love is to offer love to the members of our families freely and unconditionally.

Let every husband know that he is loved and respected not because he is the bread winner but – because of who he is, the man God created and trusted to become the head of his household.

Let every wife know she is loved and cherished not because she is a good housekeeper or child-bearer – but because God saw in her the ideal person for you to spend the rest of your life with.

Let every child born into a family rest in the assurance that they are valued not by the grades they make at school or because they make their parents proud – but because they are considered a gift from the hand of God.

When individuals learn their true worth in the safety of their homes, they will be able to appreciate the everlasting love of our Heavenly Father, and value themselves the way heaven does.

During the month of February our devotionals will be on the topic of love.
