Merry Christmas!

Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:  KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 19: 11-16, NKJV).

Father in heaven may we be ready to greet Your Son and our Savior when He returns as King and Lord!. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

For the past two weeks we have been studying various aspects of Christ’s first coming to earth – as a poor, helpless little baby. Today we will look at Him from a very different perspective:  as the coming King of kings and Lord of lords! I thought of using this imagery on Christmas day because year after year we see Him in a manger during this season. For some people this might be the only time of the year that they give some thought to the Christ. Today I want them to look at Him as He is – grown and sitting on a throne. Someone they can give their life to. Someone they can depend upon!

There are some aspects of the Christ that are mentioned in today’s Scripture that are significant:  He is sitting on a white horse and clothed in a white garment that has been dipped in blood. It is said of Him that He makes war which could account for the blood on His garment. On His head is a multiple diadem. It is evident that this extraordinary crown is symbolic of His victory in the battle for our souls!

When we saw Him as a baby His name was called Jesus and Immauel. In our Scripture for today, He is called Faithful and True, The Word of God, and KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Notice the change in titles alongside these texts:

” ‘ “I have trodden the winepress alone, And from the peoples no one was with Me. For I have trodden them in My anger, And trampled them in My fury; Their blood is sprinkled upon My garments, And I have stained all My robes.” ‘ ” (Isaiah 63:1). I believe it would be fair to conclude that He remained Faithful and True, throughout the warfare as He accomplished His mission of offering salvation to the human race by His vicarious death on Calvary’s cross!.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. . . . And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1: 1, 14). He became the Living Word of God!

One day very soon He will return to earth as “King of kings and Lord of lords”! He is no longer a baby in a manger! He is the Sovereign Lord; Victor in the battle for our souls! You can depend on Him to defend You in every situation, for He is and ever will be faithful and true!

Today I wish you a Merry Christmas! Christmas can be merry because Christ became a Baby that you and I might become full grown sons and daughters of the Living God! I hope you have a safe one! Blessings!

Merry Christmas!
