Blessed! – Part 2

Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways. When you eat the labor of your hands, You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. Psalm 128:1, 2

Here we are again dear God. Happy to be in Your Presence. Wanting to know You as intimately as we can, that we might grow into Your image and likeness. In the precious name of Your Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ we offer this prayer. Amen!

Yesterday, we looked at the first part of this text. It was delightful to be reminded of the fact that obedience to Gods Word and will brings us genuine  and lasting joy!

Today, let us take another look at this  joyful abundance. Verse 2 reads as follows:  When you eat the labor of your hands, You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.

This verse sounds like a parent telling his or her child:  “When your grades improve, you will see that it was worth your not going out and playing for a few hours.” Or, the farmer telling his sons who are helping him till the ground, “When you harvest your first watermelon, or potatoes you won’t even remember that you did not go to the game with the boys.”

The Lord invites His children into a relationship with Him by showing them the benefits of being faithful to His will. For those who have walked with the Lord for some time you know that things do not always work out the way we would like them to, when we would like them to. Nevertheless, we can say without the shadow of a doubt that “Jesus never fails!”

Therefore, the Lord can promise His obedient child, “It will be worth it all when you ‘eat the labor of your hands, you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.’ ” Here are some of those promises:

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5. Emphasis provided.).

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:9, KJV. Emphasis provided.).

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33. Emphasis provided.).

“He has made everything beautiful in its time” (Ecclesiastes 3:11a. Emphasis provided.)

Like these wonderful promises there are so many, many more! They cannot fail! Trust God, and obey His will. Leave results to Him. “You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.”
