The Most High – My Dwelling Place!

A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling[.] Psalm 91:7-10.

Our Father in heaven how grateful we are that our safety is to be found in You, our refuge. May we dwell at peace in You, our Savior and our God forever! In the mighty name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

This is our third day in the study of this wonderful psalm! Each day as we get a closer look at the special care with which God watches over those who abide under His shadow we can only exclaim with the songwriter:  My God, how great Thou art!

Yesterday we saw how at every hour of the day and every step of the way, we are surrounded by dangers of every kind. In more ways than one, David was right when he exclaimed:  “there is but a step between me and death” (1 Samuel 20:3). This statement describes quite accurately the situation of the human race.

But today we take hope as we are reassured by the Word of God that there is a covering for the child of God that the world cannot see, because it is the spiritual cloak of protection with which God covers those who have sought refuge under His wings!

Calamities can be taking place all around you. The darts of the devil may be aimed directly at you. Fire and brimstone could be falling from above you. Tongues of fire might even encircle you. The promise is, that it shall not come near you! Hallelujah! Why? Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place!

No evil can befall you nor any plague come near the dwelling of one who dwells in Jesus! Redundancy justified!

Then from a place of protection you will look and see the reward of the wicked!

More tomorrow.
