Coming Back!- Part 4

But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31, NKJV.

Most Holy Heavenly Father, hallowed be Your name! Today we give You thanks for another opportunity to study Your word and understand Your will for our lives. May we live with an attitude of obedience and love. You have blessed us more than we could have imagined, and for this we say thank You Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Promise #4:  They shall walk and not faint! Yesterday I mentioned the fact that I walk. I try to make it a part of my daily routine. Lately I have not been very faithful to my commitment to walk and stretch daily.

However, I have noticed, that whenever I decide to get back to my schedule, the first day, believe it or not, is the easiest, no matter how long I have not walked! The Lord does His part to make our coming back, possible. God’s desire is for us to be successful in the things that work for our good. His plans (thoughts) for us are “good and not evil , to give us a future and hope” (Jeremiah 29:11).

One good rule of thumb for walkers is: It is better to walk alone, than to have the wrong walking partner. The prophet Amos asked the question:  “Can two walk together without agreeing on the direction” (Amos 3;3, NLT)? As we walk along the road of life, are we going at God’s pace, and in the direction He is leading us? Or do we believe He is not going fast enough?

We live in a society that is always in a hurry! Many wonderful dreams never  come to fruition for they were never given the necessary time to mature, because of our desire for instant gratification.

God is saying to us as He said to Israel of old:

“In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength. ”But you would not, and you said, “No, for we will flee on horses”— Therefore you shall flee! And, “We will ride on swift horses”—Therefore those who pursue you shall be swift!  . . . Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; and therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him” (Isaiah 30:15b, 16, 18).

If you wait on the Lord, you will not faint! That is God’s promise to you!
