Coming Back -Part 3

But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31, NKJV.

Heavenly Father You have been journeying with us. We have heard Your voice and we are learning the lessons that You have been teaching us. Please help us to continue this journey that we might be equipped to remain in the race until we reach the Finish Line. We pray this for Your glory and the blessing of Your people. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Today is the third day of our conversation, and we will be looking at another promise that is reserved for those who wait on the LORD.

Promise #3:  They shall run and not be weary! I am not a “runner.” I walk. So I cannot argue whether it is possible to run and not get weary. Even when I walk, if I do more than I should, I become weary. So according to my experience I do not see the possibility of running without becoming weary. BUT IF GOD PROMISES IT, IT IS NOT ONLY A POSSIBILITY, IT IS A REALITY!

Marathons were famous in the days of Paul the apostle. So much so, that he used the preparation that goes into being prepared to run a marathon successfully, as a metaphor for Christians running the race of life (see 1 Corinthians 9:24-27). Therefore, I believe that all of us could learn a lesson or two on how NOT to grow weary while running the race of life.

  • Do not run ahead of the LORD, follow Him. Let Him be your Guide (Proverbs 3:5,6)
  • Keep His word close to you. It will light your path through the dark places of life (Psalm 119:105).
  • Do not seek the broad road. The narrow road may not be moving as fast as you would like, but it will take you where you want to go (Matthew 7:13, 14).
  • Follow the Lord. He knows the way because He made the way (Isaiah 43:19).
  • When you feel that you are growing weary, go to the Lord, He will give you rest, and you will learn from Him – how not to grow weary (Matthew 11:28-30).

These promises are from the LORD to those who are willing to wait on Him. Will you?

There is more to this conversation!
