All Of God’s Promises Can Be Trusted! Part 9

“Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses” (1 Kings 8:56).

My Father, my God, my All in All! We come to You. Where else can we go? You have “words of eternal life.” Our souls thirst, and hunger, and long for, the Water of life, the Bread of life, the Breath of life. Revive us! Refresh us! Renew us! and, Enable us! to become “more than conquerors, through [You] who loved us!” For this we give You thanks in the name which is above every name, the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today, the promise we will be claiming is a well known promise. Sometimes it is considered as being, “used out of context.” Nevertheless, since it is God, the Sovereign of the Universe, who sees hearts and knows needs, who hears and answers our prayers, and knows how to interpret our prayers because He also knows under what circumstances these prayer were offered, we will claim this promise, and surrender to His will. The apostle Paul, as he considered the Great God and Father had the following to say:

“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out? For who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has become His counselor?”
(Romans 11:33, 34, emphasis supplied)!

So let us look at our promise for today, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13, emphasis supplied).

I believe we can all identify with this promise in whatever context we consider it. Some may  prove it in a literal temptation, or trial, taking into consideration the context, where Paul is reminding the church at Corinth, that the trials or temptations of ancient Israel have been left as examples for them. At the same time he is warning them to take heed, when they think they are standing, lest they fall. Others may prove it in the connotation of adversity, which can also test our faith in God.

The question at the time of temptation:  Are we sufficiently rooted and grounded in God, to stand for the right and resist the temptation, cost it what it may (Joseph)? Or, in adversity:  When beneath the load of our trials, will we continue to trust God, “though He slay [us]” (Job)? Let us take the time today, to get to know the Lord, that in the hour of trial, we can call upon His name!

These are the times when God’s faithfulness in keeping His promise is proven! It is His faithfulness that keeps us from falling in the hour of temptation, or failing to trust Him in the hour of adversity! In my darkest hour, I learned that it is not the way of escape, per se, but God’s faithfulness that enables us to bear up, beneath the load; not fall nor fail, but in Him to TRIUMPH! (Please listen to Henry Wright’s message, War Stories!).

Yes Beloved ones, “There has not failed one word of all His good promise,” so you can trust Him in temptation or in adversity! Amen.
