“She makes tapestry for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple“. (Proverbs 31:22).
Our Father in heaven, all of Your words prove true, and serve a purpose. When we love others as we love ourselves, it is usually visible in the manner in which we take care of ourselves! Your words cannot fail! Please help us to serve You, “in spirit and in truth,” in all that we do. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Today we find the lady taking some “Me” time to create beautiful clothing for herself. In a previous devotional we found her making tapestry for the home. Today, she is making some for herself.
For those who have seen fine tapestry you know how beautiful it can be! I am a big fan of the fine art of tapestry! I was given two beautiful pieces by a friend who went on a trip to Europe . I treasure them. My husband put one in a frame. It is a very pleasant sight.
It is important for us to know that God delights in us being beautiful within and without! And real beauty begins in holiness! Just notice how hospitable and kind the woman is to others! This kind of behavior usually begins on the inside, and reflects on the outside!
Notice the color of royalty, purple! And the quality of the material, fine linen! Has she internalized the message, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9, emphasis provided); and spends time interceding for her loved ones?
What is evident is that the woman is indeed virtuous, in every area of her life, and in so doing she is proclaiming the praises of God! May God help us all to grow in virtue (2 Peter 1:5)!
