March, Month of Women’s History! Part 12

Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness” (Proverbs 31:25-27).

Dear God, how grateful I am to be able to call you my ABBA! Please stand beside me and bless me I pray, as I look to You for a message to share; for your glory and our blessing. In the Name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.

As we are coming to the close of the RV of the virtuous woman, several of her sterling qualities come together, as if to paint a picture of what it is, that makes her who she is. Here are a few:

Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. I believe that the strength spoken of here, is not only physical, but spiritual, emotional, and mental, as well. She seems to pray, plan, and then puts her plans into motion. While she seems to be very sympathetic with those who are less fortunate, she does not make her moves based on feelings, but on well thought out plans. She plans not only for today, but also for a joyful future!

She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness.  Unfortunately, so many of us talk before thinking, and after we have spoken, wish we had employed the gold that is to be found in silence. She weighs matters before acting. She thinks from cause to effect. The result is kindness, both in word as well as in deed! Her virtuous behavior has its beginning in a wise and loving heart that is revealed in what she says and does!

She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. Thus far, we have seen a woman who I consider very wholesome; a person of integrity. She is not hasty in making decisions. Every move she makes is given much thought, and plans are laid with precision. While doing good outside of her home; her family life takes priority. She knows what is good for them, and sees to it that they are well taken care of. For her the adage, “Charity begins at home” is a living pronciple.

Therefore, in her home, there is no time to waste. Every moment, is an investment for eternity! No wonder she looks forward to a time of rejoicing in the future!
