Lord, You Know All About Us And Yet You Love Us! – Part 2

Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You. Psalm 139: 7-12

Dear God, how excellent is your name in all the earth! There is no place where we can flee that your kindness cannot reach us, because You are everywhere! We are so grateful, for in Your loving Presence we find safety. We praise You in the mighty name of Jesus, Your Son and our Savior! Amen.

Yesterday, we marveled as we contemplated God’s omniscience! There is not a word in our mouth, but that God already knows it. Our thoughts are all known to Him even before they enter our minds, and before we trod upon our paths, He knows where they will lead! No wonder the psalmist was overwhelmed by the greatness of our God.

Today we will be pondering His omnipresence. He is everywhere! Even though Science is so advanced, and aided by technology, yet there are places on our planet that are impenetrable to human beings. I was told that there are some places in the jungles of Darien, Republic of Panama, where human beings have not been able to enter.

Yet in this poetic psalm the author is saying in no uncertain terms that there is no darkness so thick that can hide us from God’s all-seeing eye. No distance so great that His hand cannot reach us. For Him their is no advantage or disadvantage between the light and the darkness. Not even the grave can separate us from the watchful, loving care of our Heavenly Father!

Hell is not so far away that the Father will not be able to reach down and snatch a soul on the verge of going on a path of no return! And when the intellectual giants of the post-flood world tried to reach up to heaven, on their terms, to ensure that they would never suffer the faith of their predecessors, God was way ahead of them!

While they were on their way up, Scripture informs us that the all knowing, ever present, Almighty “Lord came down to see the city and the tower and scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth” (Genesis 11:5-9)!

Yet the most amazing truth in all of this is that we are never out of the reach of His unconditional love!

More tomorrow!
