Heaven Can Begin Here! Part 4

No more shall an infant from there live but a few days, Nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days; For the child shall die one hundred years old, But the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed” (Isaiah 65:20).

Gracious God, how merciful and kind you have been to Your creatures, to Your entire creation. Everyday you send to the earth what it needs to continue providing life for Your creatures. The seas and rivers, the sky, they all receive what they need to provide for the creatures that depend on them, because You are our faithful Provider! May we never take Your blessings for granted, and may we always give You the honor, the glory, and the praise, that You deserve! In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

One of the thoughts that brings joy to our hearts when we think about a new heaven and earth, is that there will be no death there. The reason that death, and dying, does not feel good, no matter under what circumstance they occur, is because, we were not created to die! Obviously, that was the purpose for the Tree of Life, in the middle of the Garden. Note also, that in the earth made new, the Tree of Life will be there,

Human beings are not immortal. Only God is, “Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen” (1 Timothy 1:17, emphasis supplied).

The more I think about this, the more I am convinced, that only God is immortal. We were created in His image and likeness; received His breath of life to make us become living souls, but not immortal beings. God is immortal because He is God! Self-existing, Self-sustaining, not subject to death! Period! I am so glad, that I serve such a God! Hallelujah!

*If Israel had been faithful to God, longevity would have characterized them. Infant mortality would not have been known among them. The elderly, even at one hundred years, would be in very good physical  and mental condition! Only those who continued in sin would have died.

*In God’s tomorrow, when we are dwelling in the new heaven and the new earth, where sin will be no more, we will receive the eternal life that God had planned for us in the beginning! In the midst of the city will be the Tree of Life, and the pure waters of the river of life that flows from the throne of God and of the Lamb, will flow through the middle of it. The tree will bear twelve fruits, a different fruit each month (Revelation 22:1-2).

We will be able to partake of the Tree of Life and live forever! God’s plan for us will finally be fulfilled! Amen!
